Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko proposed President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyev to build an embassy in Minsk near the Palace of Independence in Minsk.
Lukashenko noted that Uzbekistan opened an embassy in Minsk, which shows that Uzbekistan considers Belarusians to be close people.
“We will pick the best place in front of the Palace of Independence, if you risk to build a beautiful embassy in the Uzbek style, how you construct palaces here,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
Shavkat Mirziyev replied that this proposal would be considered. “It was my long-standing dream to open an embassy in Belarus. If we are talking about friendly relations, then we should open the embassy and work as expected,” he said.
“I will support this with great pleasure,” Lukashenko assured. “If you need to, let you have your corner of the earth in the center of Europe, where you can work for the entire European region.”
