Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and the Turkish consortium Cengiz-Kolin-Kalyon (CKK) are discussing implementation of the project to build the first toll road in the country.
First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Investments Laziz Kudratov received representatives of the consortium of Cengiz-Kolin-Kalyon. The parties discussed the implementation of the road construction project on the principles of public-private partnership on the route Tashkent-Samarkand.
The investment agreement on construction of the highway on the principles of public-private partnership was signed during the visit of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Uzbekistan.
The National partner of the project of the first toll highway is the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Roads.
According to the representatives of the Turkish consortium, the project will cover the distance from Tashkent to Samarkand in 2 hours.
The construction of Tashkent-Samarkand toll road project is tentatively scheduled for 2019-2020.
During the meeting, it was noted that it is necessary to take into account such requirements when developing a new highway project: ensuring the passage of the highway away from residential areas, minimizing impact on pasture and agricultural areas and the state of the environment.
