“Our people love football very much. After the announcement of your candidacy for the post of head coach of the national team, football fans in our country were happy. Our main goal is to achieve positive results at major competitions, to clinch sports to Tokyo-2020 and the World Cup-2022. The Uzbekistan Football Association will provide you with all the necessary conditions for this. Nobody can interfere with the work of the coaching staff. We are all one family and we hope that we will achieve our goals,” Umid Ahmadjanov said.
Hector Cuper said that he agreed to head the team of Uzbekistan for two reasons. “One of the reasons is the victory of Uzbekistan U-23 at the Asian Championships. Secondly, the goals and objectives of the association seemed to me interesting,” the expert added.
