Uzbekistan and Georgia hold meeting of Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The eighth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia was held in Tbilisi.
Minister of Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumshishvili attended the meeting.
The delegations of the two countries discussed the prospects for increasing rail and road freight turnover both between countries and transit routes.
At the session, the parties also discussed development of cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, energy, transport and logistics, communications, information technology, etc. The parties discussed the launch of direct flights between Georgia and Uzbekistan.
It was stated that direct flights will positively influence the cooperation in the tourism sector and will promote development of business relations between Uzbekistan and Georgia.
A Georgian-Uzbek business forum will also be held within the framework of the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Georgia.
