Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10-12 March, FOOD EXPO GREECE 2018 International Food and Beverage Exhibition was held in Athens, Greece.
FOOD EXPO GREECE is the largest regional international food and beverage exhibition in South-Eastern Europe. In last three years, FOOD EXPO has become one of the fastest growing exhibitions on food and beverages in the world.
The current fifth exhibition took an area of 55,000 square meters. The event was attended by more than 1,250 exhibitors from 22 countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Greece, Egypt, China, Republic of Korea, Cyprus, Lebanon, Macedonia, Netherlands, New Zealand, India, Spain, Italy, Israel, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, USA, Uzbekistan).
The event was attended by more than 70 thousand people, including 3,5 thousand foreign specialists and buyers from 65 countries, more than 15 thousand B2B meetings took place.
The exhibition presented food and beverages produced, the latest technologies and equipment for production of food products. Visitors and participants of FOOD EXPO had an opportunity to get acquainted with the latest world trends in food and beverages, modern innovative and technological solutions.
With the direct assistance of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Export Support Fund under the NBU, as well as the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Greece, the Uzbek side took part for the first time in the FOOD EXPO 2018 exhibition with the national pavilion. In particular, the Republic of Uzbekistan was represented by 30 small and medium business entities.
The foreign audience was presented with the achievements of the Republic of Uzbekistan in such industries as: Wine and Vodka Industry, production of dried fruit and vegetables, production of confectionery products, production of pasta, biologically active additives, production of food products, processing and production of dried fruits, nuts, honey , as well as beans.
Despite the debut, the products of Uzbekistan under the brand "Made in Uzbekistan" aroused a special interest of the foreign party.
Over 100 B2B meetings of the Uzbek side with representatives of business of Greece, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, the Czech Republic, Pakistan, Poland, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, China were organized at the exhibition.
Agreements for more than US$28 million were reached with the foreign party to conclude contracts for the export of Uzbek products (raisins, walnuts, dried apricots, almonds, honey, dried vegetables, licorice root, grains and legumes, confectionery, wine and vodka products), cooperation agreements and the attraction of mini- technology.
Also during the exhibition, Uzbek companies had an opportunity to get acquainted with the advanced foreign innovative technology in the food industry for the purpose of their further implementation in the Republic of Uzbekistan in production of competitive products.
The know-how and mini-technologies in the sphere of production, processing and packaging of food products, meeting modern world standards, attracted special attention of the Uzbek side.
