Uzbekistan signs agreements for US$12.4bn within Investment Forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan signed over 100 agreements and memorandums for US$12.4 billion within the International Investment Forum, which was held in Tashkent on 5-6 November 2015.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov stated that some 104 agreements and memorandums for total sum of US$12.4 billion were signed with foreign companies and banks.
Rustam Azimov underlined that the liabilities of foreign partners make up US$4.72 billion.
Within the sectional and plenary sessions of the forum, representatives of Uzbekistan and foreign states inked 39 memorandums and agreements on realization of new investment projects for US$11.7 billion.
The projects will be realized in such sectors as fuel-energy sector, chemical industry, machinery, textile industry and infrastructure.
Within the forum, 59 agreements on attraction of foreign investments within the privatization programme for US$437 million were signed. Another six inter-banking agreements for about US$1 billion were also inked.
