Uzbek athletes head to London Paralympic Games

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan national team headed to London on 24 August 2012 to participate at Paralympic Games in London, the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
Uzbekistan will be represented by 10 athletes at Paralympic Games in London. Only two athleres from Uzbekistan participated at Beijing Paralympic Games.
Major part of them will participate in athletics competition. They are Ravil Deganshin, Doniyor Soliev, Ivan Panafidin, Husniddin Norbekov, Miran Sahatov, Miyassar Ibragimova.
Uzbek team also includes swimmer Kirill Pankov, judoka Sharif Halilov, power lifters Yelena Abbasova and Yashim Shoberdiev.
London Paralympic Games will start on 29 August and will last till 9 September. It is expected that it will attended by 4,200 athletes from 165 countries on 20 sports. They will compete for 500 sets of medals.
