123 weddings, 200 sunnat-toys take place in two regions of Uzbekistan

Charity project “1,000 weddings and 1,000 sunnat-toys” has been held in Navoi and Kashkadarya regions of Uzbekistan on 25-27 March 2012. Some 123 weddings and 200 sunnat-toys (circumcision) from needy families and mercy houses were held in the regions.
The weddings were organized for pairs, who had problems with wedding organizations. Among them were graduates of mercy houses, youngsters without parents or from families from families with many children. It is planned to hold charity weddings and sunnat-toys in all regions of Uzbekistan.
The organizers of this large-scale project are Fund Forum, Women’s Council, Mehr Nuri Foundation and Social Initiatives Support Fund.
About 5,000 guests participated in these events. Brides were in wedding clothes from Guli brand, which were designed for these weddings.
The married couples received gifts from Fund Forum and Guli brand, as well as congratulations from Gulnara Karimova. Within the sunnat-toys, all boys received bicycles, toys and books. In Navoi, new families received furniture, TV-sets and rings, in Kashkadarya – refrigerators and TV-sets.
It is planned that the project will cover 1,000 weddings and 1,000 sunnat-toys in 2012.
